How to backup Windows XP

Simple question: How could I backup the Windows XP system? I would like to upgrade as soon as the Windows 7 will be released, but I am afraid of data loss during the upgrade.

The answer is more simple than you think, maybe. Just use an image backup solution like Acronis True Image (paid) or DriveImage XML.
